Banglabanners are all over the school, making raising money banglacool. It’s the time of year to help out Holy Cross schools in Bangladesh. This year, Biroidakuni High School is in need of major banglabucks to afford a new computer lab to go along with their recently acquired electricity.
Hoban is ready to answer the call and hopes to raise $15,000 to fund the new computers. In order to raise this money, various incentives are being teased to students to raise donations.
For $25, students will receive a Banglabash t-shirt that can be worn to school every Friday through April 30. Also, students will obtain a ticket to the faculty-student banglabasketball game on March 3.
For $50, students will not only receive the Banglabash t-shirt and admission to the game, but boys as well as girls will be allowed to grow as much facial hair (including a banglabeard) as desired to school every day. Students will also be allowed to wear Hoban sweatpants with their Banglabash t-shirts every Friday until April 30.
For $75, students will receive all of the incentives above and will also be allowed to wear shorts that pass the pop can test and flip flops or sandals every day until April 30.
“I can’t imagine going to school without electricity,” said senior activities committee member Hannah Karg. “It is our responsibility to help out our fellow Holy Cross School and at least give them a chance at the opportunities we have.”
Banglabash kicked off on Tuesday, Feb. 16 and runs through Wednesday, March 3.
